Ardkinglas Woodland Garden covers 25 acres of hillside lying in a naturally sheltered pocket near the mouth of the River Kinglas but surrounded by wild Highland scenery. Paths throughout the garden offer a variety of walks to suit all abilities. The focus is on mature trees (including the mightiest conifer in Europe) and our exceptional collection of rhododendron species. A woodland lochan, ancient mill, scriptorium and a very visible and thriving population of rare Red Squirrels add to the attractions at Ardkinglas.
Set amidst stunning scenery Ardkinglas has been used as a photographic location and also the setting for TV dramas and films whilst continuing the traditional highland estate activities of farming and stalking.
Ardkinglas House, designed by Robert Lorimer, is available for meetings and small conferences. Guided tours of the house are available of Fridays at 2:30 from April to October.
